Become an E-DLD member!
If you or your child has DLD (or childhood language disorder or communication impairment), you can sign up to E-DLD.
Who can sign up?
-
We are an international project, meaning you can sign up from anywhere in the world.
-
You can sign up to E-DLD if you are a parent of a child with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), or if you have DLD and are over 16.
-
If you are an adult and think that you might have DLD, but have not been diagnosed, you can still sign up! We have a screening procedure for adults who suspect they have DLD. When you sign up, you will be asked some questions about your language difficulties. If your answers indicate that you may have DLD, you can complete your sign up to become a full E-DLD member.
What happens when I sign up?
-
We will ask you information about yourself, your child (if you are a parent to a child with language difficulties), your family and contact information.
-
The E-DLD team will send you a yearly survey to complete. This will allow us to find out more about the progress and difficulties those with DLD experience over time.
-
You will get up to one email per month with information about research studies looking for participants.
-
It is up to you to decide if you want to contact researchers and take part in a study.
-
You can choose to leave E-DLD and withdraw your information from E-DLD at any time.
Will my information be kept safe?
-
All information E-DLD collects is held securely in servers at the University of Bath and is available only to the core E-DLD team.
-
We will never pass your information on to other research teams or external organisations without your permission. With your permission, we will share research data only - not your personal details.
-
Responses to the yearly survey will be used for research, but will never be linked to personal details, such as your name or email address.
This project has received full ethical approval from the University of Bath Department of Psychology Research Ethics Committee (codes: 20-207 and 20-208).

Got a question?
How long will it take to sign up?
-
Most parents and adults complete the sign up in under 15 minutes.
-
The average time taken to sign up is 12 minutes.
-
If you start to sign up but do not have time to fill in everything, make sure to enter your email address where asked. We will contact you with a link and return code, so you can choose to continue your sign up at a more convenient time.
